Hernandez's lawyer promises "shocking revelations" in new book.

Jose Baez, the defense attorney who represented Aaron Hernandez during his murder trial, is writing a biography about the former New England Patriots tight end and he promises “shocking revelations," according to CBS Boston.

Baez’s “Unnecessary Roughness: The Life and Death of Aaron Hernandez” is set to release on August 21st.

The book was reportedly written with the cooperation of Hernandez’s fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez, and will also include a foreword by her. According to Hachette Books, the biography is being billed as the “definitive, insider” story on Hernandez. The book aims to offer a "sympathetic" account of Hernandez’s final days, based on "countless intimate conversations with Aaron and his family and friends in the year leading up to his double murder trial."

Baez claims that recent testing showed that Hernandez had a severe case of CTE, noting that Aaron was at Stage 3, with Stage 4 being the highest. Hernandez's fiancee believes Aaron killed himself as a result of CTE and is reportedly suing the New England Patriots and the NFL for keeping him in the dark about the brain disease.

Hernandez killed himself in his jail cell back April 2017 while serving a life-without-parole sentence for a 2013 murder. His suicide came shortly after he was acquitted in the 2012 drive-by shootings of two men in Boston.
