The Trail Blazers aren't interested in losing their star player.

The Los Angeles Lakers are in a position to have a good season next year. LeBron James is heading to the City of Angels, and he's going to have the help of Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, and JaVale McGee, who were all picked up by the Lakers following James' signing. The Lakers have also shown interest in several other players that would help James bring a championship to Los Angeles. Carmelo Anthony is on the top of that list, but sources are also claiming that the Lakers are interested in acquiring Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers.

According to Peter Socotch of NBC Sports Northwest, rumors of Lillard being traded away to Los Angeles are just that, rumors. Socotch spoke with Trail Blazer GM Neil Olshey, who stated, "As much as I love LeBron, he doesn’t get to pick his teammates." He must not have been paying attention to James' career in the last eight years. He continued on to say, "That’s not how it works. This isn’t the world of sending a couple of texts out and see who wants to run with us." According to Stephen A. Smith though, Lillard is looking to take his talents to a bigger market if the Trail Blazer's can't sign anyone to give him more help in Portland.
