Now that Lil Durk has been freed of a restrictive contract situation with Def Jam, the road to meritocracy looks wide open. Durk knows his relative worth in relation to other rappers, and wisely stays within those boundaries, save for the short-lived showmance with Dej Loaf.
Durk's self-serious demeanor doesn't preclude him from letting out the rare excitable "shriek." That's in essence what makes Lil Baby and Young Dolph the perfect additives to "Downfall, a record that should be bleak, based on the title alone, but instead, it impels a heroic impulse.
Dolph's ability to laugh in the face of tragedy is well documented. Couple that with Lil Baby's relative indifference to the outside World, and the workload feels less rigid than it did when Durk was staring down at a computer screen. Not to mention, the trio worked their arses off to complete the corresponding music video, which should see light within the next few days.

Quotable Lyrics:
I can't be around Y'all
Because I can't show you this
You gone do what you've got to do
To sell that dogfood
You've got a good bih
You've got to send her to law school.
