Trump takes undue credit for low unemployment rates.

Remember when Donald Trump was campaigning and he urged black voters to give him a try cause they had "noting to lose?" Well, he's upholding those statements, going so far as to say that he's "proud" of them:

You heard me say this many times. I'm very proud of it. Remember I used to say 'What do you have to lose? What do you have to lose?' because I'd read these horrible statistics... highest crime, worst education, all the bad things, lowest homeownership. about African-Americans and they've always voted for Democrats. Not all, but a big portion. And I'd say 'what do you have to lose after reading these horrible stats. And my people would say 'Oh, that's not a nice thing to say.' But I'd say 'but it's true. 'What do you have to lose?'

The reason that Trump is bringing this up again all of a sudden is that, as he says, "African-American unemployment recently achieved the lowest rate ever recorded in our history." Apparently, the same is true for the unemployment rate for Hispanic-Americans. This statistic is, unfortunately not completely telling. Although the unemployment rate may be at an all-time low, it's not because of Trump. Per the New York TimesObama is the one who got this train rolling: "the economy added about three million jobs for black Americans between January 2009 and January 2017, during Mr. Obama’s presidency."

Of course, Trump didn't miss another opportunity to tout Kanye West's endorsement (if it's even that) of him. He also name dropped Jim Brown. Watch below:
