Obviously Frank Ocean has been in the news a lot this week, due to his “skirmish” with Chris Brown and company. After tweeting about it, the crooner was officially confirmed as a performer at this year’s Grammys. His debut album, channel ORANGE was a seminal effort that reached critical and commercial success, and has now reached certified Gold.
After selling over 500,000 units, the Recording Industry Association of America has given Ocean’s album certified Gold certification.
This album has garnered the OF member six Grammy nominations including “Best New Album,” and “Record of the Year,” for the track “Think ‘Bout You.” Expect this to be the first of many Frank Ocean albums to hit Gold.
