Big Brother has been on the air for almost twenty years. CBS' hit reality television show features a number of contestants who are forced to live together with no contact with their friends and family. The contestants are also under 24/7 surveillance, and are competing for a mountain of cash. Somehow, Big Brother has been able to remain relative throughout the last two decades of new reality tv shows. The 20th season of the series began last month, and the contestants are already getting into trouble.
CBS runs a 24/7 live stream online of the contestants in the house, and one of them was captured saying the N word in conversation. TMZ captured the moment, which shows Kaitlyn Herman talking to Tyler Crispen and Scottie Salton when she to quotes Drake’s “0 to 100." “I did go 0 to 100, n***a, real quick,” she says casually. She seems to realize what she did on camera and catches herself immediately. The incident comes after CBS warned the contestants that there will be consequences for inappropriate behavior after two other incidents took place in the residence.
The other two incidents, which involved racial comments and a homophobic slang, were addressed by CBS prior to the most recent N-word scandal. In the statement released to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS said, "Big Brother is a reality show about watching a group of people who have no privacy 24/7 — and capturing every unfiltered moment and conversation in their lives. At times, the houseguests reveal prejudices and exhibit behavior that we do not condone. The producers have addressed two such incidents that were seen recently on the 24/7 online feed. In both cases, those involved have been warned about their inappropriate behavior and offensive comments, as well as future consequences. These events will not be part of any future Big Brother broadcast on CBS."
