SoundCloud is stepping their game up. After reports last year that the streaming site that helped launch the careers of several rappers including Lil Pump and Ski Mask The Slump God was going under, SoundCloud is back with a vengeance. The company, which is headquartered in Berlin, Germany, announced on Wednesday that they were initiating their first multi-platform advertising campaign dubbed "First On SoundCloud." The campaign highlights ten different artists who got their start on the streaming site.
According to Billboard, the campaign will showcase the artists by using music, video, and photography. SoundCloud users will be able to get involved as well, by using the hashtag #SCFIRST. Users who upload new music using the hashtag have a chance to receive advertisement and support from the site.
The ten artist that will be highlighted span across several different genres and countries across the world. They include Kehlani, Jay Prince, Galimatias, Taylor Bennett, Lorine Chia, Cathedrals, Melo Makes Music, Party Pupils, starRo and Witt Lowry.
"Creators are the center of our ecosystem and this campaign underscores our commitment to empowering them with the best tools, data, and resources to share their work, inspire their audiences and build their careers on SoundCloud first," revealed SoundCloud CEO Kerry Trainor in a statement. SoundCloud's director of brand and integrated marketing Erika Leone also stated, "We're inspired and humbled to have such an incredible lineup of artists tell their stories of starting on SoundCloud and to connect them with even more fans through the campaign. These stories represent the millions of creative journeys that begin on SoundCloud first."
