If you don't know who Issa Rae is then quite frankly I don't know what to say. If you do know who she is, then you may find it kind of funny that she doesn't think she's famous. The recent CFDA Fashion Awards host chatted with The Hollywood Reporter and talked about her life since becoming a successful TV writer and according to her, her "life hasn’t changed that much."
“If anything, I say it feels like I’m popular in high school where it’s like, ‘Oh, I know you,'" she added. Now, of course, Issa hasn't won hundreds of awards or taken over the Billboard charts or written super popular movies but her HBO show Insecure is pretty amazing and that alone makes her someone.
"I don’t consider myself famous by any means. I’m not Rihanna or Beyonce, you know? I can walk into a grocery store just fine," she explained.
During her talk she teased what we can expect on the upcoming, highly anticipated, season three of Insecure. "This season is about adulting in a new way," she told the publication. "I think we’ve watched our characters really fumble and fuck up — and in some ways in your 20s you are allowed that — but this season is about not acting like you’re naive anymore or that you don’t know better. So it is about, what does it look like to know better and to do better?"
The third season airs on August 12th - click here to watch the short teaser to get yourself ready.
