It seems as though everyone and their dog has gone to see Marvel's new super hero team-up epic, Avengers: Infinity War. The film has only been released for a short time, and yet has already broken seemingly every possible box office record, including being the fastest film to ever break $1 billion at the box office.
Well, Marvel's reign of terror doesn't seem to be ending any time soon, as the film has reported massive turn-outs in international markets as well. According to Deadline, Thanos' mad quest for power has brought in big numbers in markets such as China and India.
In China, the movie has reportedly pulled in approximately $70 million, which firmly places it as the third highest movie opening ever there, trailing only behind Monster Hunt 2 and The Fate of the Furious. The film is set to quickly break the $200 million mark, which puts it on pace to beat Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is currently the highest grossing MCU film in China.
In India, Infinity War took down another Disney property, The Jungle Book, to become the highest grossing debut of any Western film in the country, with a take of around $40 million.
Neither of these totals factor into the latest grand total of $1.275 billion gross for the film, which would place it firmly at the number twelve spot on the list of highest grossing movies of all time, but with these latest developments, the film would be pushed higher to number eight.
This is quite the payoff for Marvel, as this film was ten years in the making.
