Barbara can add cloning a dog to her impressive list of accomplishments.

Don't panic, we've entered a paradigm shift. The speciation of dogs is known dirty secret of ours, as a human race. Those with the resources to build their own pet cemetary are bound to take action. According to Variety, Barbara Streisand has done exactly that, taking cells from her deceased Coton de Tulear "Samantha" and transferring them over to two brand new pups.

Cloning has been viable option since Dolly the sheep in 1996. The only thing stopping us in our tracks is the ungodly nature of the procedure. But our fixation with sacrilege is changing and we are becoming more comfortable with genetic manipulation as a race.

It's hard to believe that in a career spanning several decades, this might be Barbara's indelible mark on society. She chose this as her cover story in next month's Variety. Furthermore she wants us to know that careful risk isn't without reward:

“They have different personalities, I’m waiting for them to get older so I can see if they have her (Samantha’s) brown eyes and seriousness.”
