Amy Poehler has ascended into the upper echelons of comedy since her memorable days as a cast member on Saturday Night Live. She famously starred in the hit NBC series Parks and Recreation, and has also appeared in various cinematic projects that have helped nuance her unique sense of humour and comedic timing The actress is now looking to expand her acumen by assuming the role as director and producer of her latest cinematic endeavour Wine Country; she will also appear in the forthcoming project.
The film will be released exclusively on Netflix, and is written by former SNL scribes Emily Spivey and Liz Cackowski. The film's premise is quite barren as of now, but essentially depicts a group of girls travelling to a viticultural estate in Napa Valley to celebrate a 50th birthday.
The film will star a treasure's trove of notable SNL alumni including Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Paula Pell, Ana Gasteyer, as well as screenwriter Spivey.
