While Meek Mill's arrest in November ultimately went on to spark a debate on the criminal justice system, it seems as if all of his team's best efforts to free the rapper have fallen through. As it stands, Meek is currently serving between two and four years in prison, a sentence handed down by Judge Genece Brinkley, who has previously been at the center of her own Meek-related drama. And while recent investigations have concluded that Brinkley was without bias during her assessment of Meek, it hasn't stopped the rapper's legal team from throwing all they can at the Judge. As a result, it seems as if new developments arise almost daily - including this one, from TMZ.
This time, the drama surrounds one of the court clerks, a woman by the name of Wanda Chavarria. During Meek Mill's probation violation hearing, Chavarria allegedly slipped the rapper a note in which she asked him for money. And while her intentions were no doubt noble, if extremely unethical, the court officials deemed that a line had been crossed. In her letter to Meek, Chavarria spoke of her son's dream of attending college, writing "unfortunately with my bad credit, I am unable to secure a loan or co-sign a loan for my son. Anything that you can do is very much appreciated."
Meek's lawyers claimed that Chavarria passed the note to Meek while serving as the clerk for Judge Brinkley, who claims to have no knowledge on the transgression. While Chavarria claims the judge was ignorant of the process, Meek's lawyers maintain that Chavarria actually asked Meek for money in earshot of the judge. All things considered, there are episodes of Law And Order with less drama than this.
