It looks like Azealia Banks is continuing her attempt to make amends with Nicki Minaj still. Back in September, Azealia made a public apology to Nicki for “whatever catty shit” she might've done in the past. “Hey, I’m not sure if you will see this but I wanted to apologise for whatever catty shit I’ve said to and or about you in the past I really do enjoy your artistry and think you’re so intelligent and clever,” she said. “You have a really brilliant art mind and often times remind me a lot of myself.”
Well now, looking to move on from their feuded past, Azealia wants Nicki to jump on her forthcoming single “Anna Wintour,” off her upcoming project Fantasea II: The Second Wave, which drops this March.
Taking to Instagram, Banks revealed that she wants Mel B on the song as well. “I would absolutely LOVE to have Mel B from the spice girls and Nicki Minaj on this,” she wrote. “KUNTS please put out more manifesting energy !!” she captioned.
It’s pretty clear that “Anna Wintour” was named after the fashion icon and Vogue editor-in-chief, but in addition Banks also said that she was influenced by singer-songwriter Stacie Orrico, producer Junior Sanchez, and God as well.
“This song was inspired by a remix of ice princess by @juniorsanchezofficial” she said. “I took the glitches melody he put on it and wrote lyrics to it. I referenced a lot of Stacie Orrico for this song . I wanted to write a song that could double as a praise to God. It’s a song about learning to love, learning to accept love and learning how to love yourself. ❤️”
