Earlier in the week, it was reported that Smooky Margielaa was being accused of his alleged involvement in the sexual assault of a minor in Spain. Margielaa and his crew were being investigated for their possible involvement in the rape of a 17-year-old girl backstage at Barcelona hotspot Razzmatazz when the young New York rapper refuted the accusations. Responding quickly to the claims, Smooky told HNHH that he was not even there and that this "has nothing to do with [him]." The concert venue is now supporting Smooky's words by confirming that he was not present, releasing a statement that does not name him as a person of interest.
In the announcement by Razzmatazz, the club is echoing what Smooky had already told us, writing that the 15-year-old rapper was not present in the room as part of the eight men involved. The communications were written completely in Spanish, asking all media outlets that reported on the news to correct the misinformation in order to protect Smooky's image. While the men involved have not yet been identified, the assault took place after Margielaa performed at the club as part of his European tour. The final remaining date on the tour was canceled as a result of the news.
With Smooky now not a suspect in the case, authorities will continue to conduct an investigation to get to the bottom of what happened. Check out the venue's statement below, written in Spanish.
