The Golden State Warriors are just one win away from capturing their third NBA title in the last four seasons.
Despite lackluster performances by Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in last night's Game 3, the Warriors still managed a 110-102 victory over the Cavs in Game 3, thanks to a monster performance from Kevin Durant. KD, who LeBron described as an "assassin," went off for a game-high 43 points on 15-of-23 shooting, along with 13 rebounds and seven assists.
During the post-game, LeBron praised Kevin Durant as one of the best players the league has ever seen and compared the Warriors to the New England Patriots, who have won two of the last four Super Bowls.
Per ESPN:
"He's a scorer. You know, he's an assassin and that was one of those assassin plays right there."
"It's almost like playing the Patriots: you just can't have mistakes, they're not going to beat themselves."
"You know that you can never relax. You know if you relax, they make you pay, and making you pay could cost you a game," James said.
"[That's why they] went out and got KD, to where there's really not much pressure on -- you know, I won't say 'any of them' to score, but if one of them has a bad game, they have three or four guys that can actually pick up the load."
Golden State will to complete the sweep on Friday night. Game 4 is scheduled to tipoff at the Quicken Loans Arena at 9:00pm ET.
