Q Da Fool entered the picture well before Zaytoven published his casting call for new talent. Let's not getting into that shall we..
The Roc Nation signee first touched down with Zay during the making of "The Plug." The single felt like nothing more than a palate teaser for Q, based on the storytelling potential that lies in his background story. But it dawned on me, Q's new project shouldn't feed my unconscious desire for graphic violence, even if the World turns madly in that direction right as we speak.
Contrary to how I felt about his first single, which I subjectively marked with an asterisk, "Normal Rapper" is a better execution of the same idea. Luckily for Q, there are entities who campaign for 2nd chances, I among them. The "Normal Rapper" video gives us a better look at his visual aesthetic, since it's only thing differentiated quality that isn't completely consumed by Zaytoven's production. I'll hand it to Q, he does thing on the mic.
Quotable Lyrics:
Used to sell QP's, and I just got a call from QC
And I got a plug on the weed for thirteen
Shot my first gun, I was only thirteen
Two sons on the way, I'ma raise two kings
100 brick play, I'ma make the bells sing
And I move like the mob, badda boom, badda bing
