"I don’t even know the words for it…It’s emotional even thinking about that."

Joaquin Oliver, a 17-year old victim of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, was laid to rest earlier this month in the jersey of Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade.

According to the Miami Herald, Oliver, a passionate heat fan, was overjoyed when the Heat traded for Wade at the NBA trade deadline and was looking forward to watching Wade play out the rest of his career in Miami.

Oliver's parents spoke about burying their son in the Wade jersey on Sunday which caught the attention of the Heat star. "You’re about to make me cry this afternoon," he tweeted in response to the news. Wade later told the Sun-Sentinel,

“You really can’t put that in words. You hurt for the family…You just hope that in the time that he was alive, you were able to help bring some form of joy to his life and something memorable. A story that his family and you guys can talk about. I don’t even know the words for it…It’s emotional even thinking about that. That his parents felt that burying him in my jersey was something he would’ve wanted. I take a lot of pride in what I’ve done in this state and what I’ve meant to the youth.”

Prior to Saturday's game against the Grizzlies, Dwyane Wade addressed the crowd as he and the other players and coaches paid tribute to the Parkland victims. "Tonight we honor the 17 lives that was tragically lost in Parkland," Wade said Saturday in an address to Heat fans. "We applaud the fearless students that are fighting for their lives. And we also make sure that their voices are heard around gun safety. You are our nation's inspiration. We salute you, and we support you."
