Last year, Fyre Festival promised the best in an upper class music festival experience. With tickets that started at $1200, festival attendees would be given the chance to party up close and personal with some of their favorite celebrities, all while enjoying the relaxing atmosphere of a Bahamas resort. What happened instead was a some kind of twisted, island gulag for rich Instagram kids. As report after report of horrible conditions, lack of food and water, and the inability to actually leave the island, Fyre Festival turned into a nightmare that was equally hellish and hilarious depending on who you asked.
Now those who wish to relieve the chaos will be able to, thanks to a newly announced documentary series coming to Hulu sometime next year. According to Vulture, the series will take a behind the scenes look at the Ja Rule co-sponsored festival, that eventually led to the arrest of the other co-founder Billy McFarland, on fraud charges.
The series will reportedly contain interviews with ticket holders who got stranded on the island, Bahamian residents, vendors, and investors. There will also be unseen footage of the festival, as well as leaked materials from the organization of the festival. However, there isn't any mention as to whether or not Ja Rule will be at all involved in the project.
The series will be co-produced by Billboard, Mic, and Cinemart. Are you excited for this new documentary series? Will they finally answer the question of "Where is Ja?" We'll have to wait until 2019 to find out.
