Bruno beats out Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and Lorde for the night's top honor.

Burno Mars was Sunday evening's biggest winner at the 60th Grammy Awards celebration as the crooner took home all of the six awards for which he was nominated, all attributed to his 24K Magic album release of 2016. Prior to grabbing the coveted trophy for Album Of The Year, beating out Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino and Lorde,  Mars visited the stage twice before to accept the award for  Record of The Year for his "24K Magic" single and Song Of The Year which went to his "That's What I Like" single.

Mars found an almost equal match in Kendrick Lamar who earned five total wins out of his seven nominations, winning Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance for his DAMN. project and "HUMBLE." single, respectively.

Disappointment, however, arrived in the case of Jay-Z as Hov, who led nominations with a total of eight, walked away with no wins. We're sure he won't spend too long dwelling on it though, as he already owns 21 Grammys and was honored the night before with the Recording Academy's Salute To Industry Icons award.

With all this in consideration, this year unfortunately marked yet another instance in which rappers were shut out of the top categories, and confined to wins in, well, the rap categories. Had the night gone differently, Kenny or Hov both had a crack at becoming the first rapper to win either song or record of the year, and the third hip-hop artist to ever win Album Of The Year. That honorable distinction only belongs to Lauryn Hill whose Miseducation of Lauryn Hill took home the top prize in 1999 and Outkast who earned the title in 2004 with their The Speakerboxxx/The Love Below double album.
