Lil Dicky is quite the sensation in the rap game. The 2016 XXL Freshman stood out majorly amongst his peers as the goofy comedian-turned-rapper stood beside Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, Lil Yachty, 21 Savage and others for the cover shoot. The white, Jewish rapper has gained somewhat of a cult following from his insane freestyles on radio shows, and his lyrical wordplay in the tracks he has released. Fans of his do not need to wait much longer to hear from Lil Dicky as the artist has just come through with a release date for the lead single off his upcoming album.
March 8 is the date to look forward to for new LD, as the rapper has shared an unrelated image of a manatee on his Instagram with the news in his caption. Dicky wrote on the photo, "March 8, I will drop my first single/video off my next album. This picture has nothing to do with that, but I do love manatees and think they go under appreciated." While we hope that there is at least a mention of the sea cow in his single, or in the accompanying video, he is hammering home that the photo is sincerely irrelevant to the news.
Lil Dicky has not released a full-length album since he dropped Professional Rapper in 2015, which kickstarted his rise to the mainstream. The single was previously announced to be coming in February, but there appears to have been a delay resulting in the date being pushed back to March 8.
