The future of gaming is bright.

Assassin's Creed is one of those games that comes out every year with a new title and a new premise. Fans of the series have traveled through time to ancient Egypt, colonial America, and the Renaissance among other famous time periods. As time passes on, the games become more and more advanced. Gave developer Ubi Soft believes the technological advancements will soon lead the Assassin's Creed franchise down a much larger path.

Executive Vice President of Creative at Ubisoft Canada Lionel Raynaud spoke with Mikel Reparaz of the developer's blog, and revealed that memory expansion in the future could lead to titles that spanned multiple eras or locations in one game.  "We will have technology that will break the [current] limits of memory, for instance, because of new technologies that are arriving," he stated.  "We would be able to – in the same world – have several historical periods, for instance, in Assassin's Creed, and use the Animus to travel from one to the other. Or have different areas of the world linked by travel systems, so that a Far Cry game or a Watch Dogs game could happen in different countries in the same experience, seamlessly." Both Microsoft and Sony are aiming to release new consoles within the next 2 years, so expect that new technology to be on the way very soon.
