Kanye West and his two eldest children will grace the cover of Harper's Bazaar for their September "Icons" issue. This is the 2nd time Kanye West covers the "Icons" editorial. His first occurrence was with wife Kim Kardashian when the two were shot in an intimate setting. The write-up itself is infamous for airing out certain grievances about Taylor Swift. Kanye & Kim mockingly listed their favorite Taylor Swift songs unbeknownst to the editorial staff.
This upcoming issue will encompass a Kanye cover story in which the 41 year-old tour de force outlines his wishes for his dearly-beloved children (pictured below). "I hope my children never lose their confidence to society," said Kanye of his undying faith in social conventions, and most importantly with regard to his children. Unfortunately 6-month old Chicago West could not be present for the shoot due to conflicting interests.
Outside of Kanye West and his family, Harper's Bazaar has also enlisted Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera to do the same on alternate covers. The photo shoots were all undertaken by stylist Carine Roitfield and photographer Mario Sorrenti.
"I’m a very family-oriented person, so I wanted to meet the families of some of my biggest music idols … It was very amazing to see that some of the industry’s most groundbreaking rock stars have a sense of tenderness with their loved ones — even if they are adults," said Roitfield of her experience shooting actual "Icons" live in the flesh.
The issue hits the stands on August 21st.
