Under much scrutiny for the last few years over his peaceful protest of the national anthem, Colin Kaepernick has failed to find a home thus far in the NFL. After kneeling while the "Star-Spangled Banner" played, Kaepernick was not only a victim of hateful messages by fans who disagreed with his "disrespect" of the nation, but he was also seemingly outed by football team owners. The Seattle Seahawks planned to work out the QB last week, but the session was postponed due to reported concerns over the national anthem.
With teams unwilling to give the fully-capable player a chance in the league, his platform has been slightly diminished, but he can still spread awareness to his nearly 2 and a half million Instagram followers. Kaepernick took to the medium to share his thoughts on the recent resurfacing of his anthem protest, quoting Jackie Robinson on the MLB star's official remembrance day. Along with a photo of the man who broke down walls for black men in Major League Baseball, Colin included a quote saying, "I cannot stand and sing the anthem. I cannot salute the flag; I know that I am a black man in a white world."
The message echoes exactly that Kaepernick has said his protest has stemmed from. With yet another team looking unlikely to sign him due to his kneeling during the national anthem, the quote could not come at a more timely moment. Check out the post below and let us know if you think teams are being too harsh on the QB.
