While the vast majority of those checking out Lil Dicky's most recent Chris Brown-featured music video ended up loving it, some fans were not as enthusiastic. Landing at the first position on our weekly Top 100 chart, HNHH readers enjoyed the creative concept and comical cameos at the end of the clip. Fans of Ed Sheeran and Kendall Jenner on the other hand... not so much. When Kendall retweeted LD's announcement of the video, fans blew up her mentions, mostly for daring to appear in a video alongside Chris Brown.
Chris' controversial past has been well-documented over the years, with a history of domestic abuse completely changing his image to fans. Several of Jenner's supporters were angry about her decision to star in the clip, asking why she's "supporting an abuser." Kendall is not the only star getting flack for their inclusion alongside Breezy as pop star Ed Sheeran has also upset some of his supporters. Neither Lil Dicky or Chris Brown have responded to the controversy as both continue to promote the video, which has garnered over 13 million views at the time of publication.
The backlash recalls an article we recently wrote about supporting artists who are inherently problematic. Do you have a problem when artists choose to creatively connect with somebody that has proven to be controversial, like Chris Brown? Check out some of the tweets below.
