Since the release of My Dear Melancholy, in March, The Weeknd has been relatively quiet. Aside from his appearance on Belly's "What You Want" and a few Abel spottings alongside Bella Hadid in Paris, the man has been laying low as the music world heats up with some major releases. With his fans consistently wanting to know what he's up to, the announcement of an upcoming radio show is perfect for loyal supporters of the XO clique as they will get to hear exactly what Abel's been rocking with as of late. Introducing Memento Mori to the world, The Weeknd is the latest performer to be offered a radio show on Beats 1, giving him a platform to share the music that has been inspiring him.
Letting his fans know on Instagram, Abel's upload stayed in line with his recent cryptic nature, referring to himself in the third person as he spends his time in France. Sharing the official Memento Mori graphic, the Toronto artist captioned his post, "introducing MEMENTO MORI. while he’s been hiding out in Paris, he’s decided to start a radio show and present all of the music thats inspiring some late nights. You can listen to it on Friday. I present you… @mementomori.radio." As rumors of a follow-up EP are still capturing much of his fanbase's attention, perhaps The Weeknd has plans to set everything straight on the inaugural episode of his new show this Friday.
Memento Mori will be available on Apple Music with its first episode airing at the end of this week.
