The musical will debut in theatres on October 5th.

The hype surrounding the remake of the 1937 film A Star is Born was kicked into overdrive after it was announced that Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga would assume the lead roles in this transcendent tale of fortitude, romance and creativity.

The film details fictional country singer Jackson Maine's (Cooper) descent into irrelevance as his career is plagued by personal demons and waning public interest. However, Maine discovers Ally (Gaga), a fellow struggling artist performing at a local bar.

"I don’t sing my own songs. I just don’t feel comfortable… Almost every single person has told me they like the way I sounded but they didn’t like the way I look," Ally admits after Maine approaches her to inquire about her impressive talent.

However, Maine believes that she is beautiful, prompting the two musicians to establish both a working and romantic relationship with one another. The clip ends with Ally being pushed in front of a large audience, performing an original track titled "The Shallow" (which was created by Mark Ronson specifically for the film.)

A Star is Born marks Cooper's directorial debut, after having signed on to the project back in 2015. The musical numbers were recorded on set during filming, at Gaga's request.

"It all came down to this broken love story, and there’s no better way to express that than through singing because there’s nowhere to hide when you’re singing. Your whole body is electrified," Cooper revealed during an interview with Entertainment Weekly about the porject. "That was the initial igniter of the passion for me… then, it was about going back and watching the other versions, and each one had many merits, and I wanted to make sure that this movie paid homage to and was aware of the [others], and honored [them] as another incarnation, while at the same time being a very personal movie that lives on its own."
