Celine Dion is a music industry vet with an arsenal of hit singles and a melismatic voice unlike no other. René-Charles Angélil, the eldest son of Dion and her late husband René, is now following in his mother's footsteps in establishing a musical career, and is beginning to receive some recognition for his efforts.
Angélil is an aspiring rapper who goes by the pseudonym Big Tip, and has since released three songs titled "Catwalks (Sidewalks Remix)," "Loft Music Remix" and "The Apple." The former two tracks have ascended to the top of Soundcloud's up-and-coming R&B & Soul chart, a feat the budding rapper commemorated on Instagram. "Catwalks" is a reinterpretation of The Weeknd's track "Sidewalks" from Starboy, while Angélil also provides some bars on a remix of "Loft Music" from the Canadian crooner's album Trilogy.
On Wednesday, Big Tip also released an original new track titled "The Apple," which features some raunchy lyrics. "The apple don’t fall far from the tree, so this is god sent, ima break it down for em ima make it real easy, dropped two chart toppers and said it was cheesy, y’all can go suck a dick, I’m making major moves, y’all on some petty s–t, i do not f–k with," he boasts.
Only time will tell if Big Tip will be able to carve a nice for himself within the music industry akin to his prolific mother.
