Cleveland Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson allegedly punched Draymond Green at an ESPY's after party last month, and that's cause for a celebration in "The Land." For some Cavs fans, just the thought of Thompson slugging Draymond is parade-worthy news, even if the validity of the details remain in question.
The official event listing on Facebook reads, "Parade in Cleveland on October 13th (Tristan's number) at 3:10 p.m. (For obvious reasons). We would all like to punch Draymond in the face, so we need to celebrate someone who (probably) did! Bring canned goods I guess. Go Cavs."
According to Bossip, Thompson and Green were allegedly involved in an altercation earlier this month at Los Angeles night club Delilah, following the ESPYs on July 18.
"Both ballers were in the nightclub for a private party after the ESPY Awards July 18th, and we’re told that Thompson – dad of baby girl True with Khloe Kardashian – socked Green with a two-piece, getting the better of the NBA Champion."
"And it was none other than their fellow teammates LeBron James andKevin Durant that quickly stepped in to break up the fracas, we’re told. James apparently had enough and left the party shortly after the alleged incident."
Fox Sports' Jason McIntyre also revealed details of the alleged incident, claiming Draymond had gone up to Thompson to apologize about what happened after Game 4 of the 2018 NBA Finals, but TT wasn't having it. After Draymond reportedly tried to make peace again, Thompson went ahead and punched him. The Athletic's Marcus Thompson II says one source at the party told him, "It was a sucker punch," adding, "But, to be honest, it wasn't really a punch. It was more like a shove."
Whether it was a punch, a shove, or merely a stare down, Cavs fans are using it as a reason to celebrate.
