It's been a huge day for the Migos following the release the highly anticipated Culture II album that dropped last night. Fans have been taking in the 24-song tracklist while the trio have been doing a full fledged promo run for the past week and are gearing up to hit the Grammys this Sunday where they're nominated for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Album. Regardless of their busy schedule, it looks like they're back in the studio with Takeoff being the next Migo to drop a joint effort with someone outside of their group.
Carnage hit Twitter today to reveal that he and Takeoff have a joint mixtape on the way. "TAKEOFF X CARNAGE TAPE COMING SOON," he wrote on Twitter alongside a screenshot of him and Takeoff on Facetime. There's no release date set for it but it's about time that Takeoff has his moment to shine as a solo artist.
With the release of Culture II, many felt the project finally highlighted Takeoff's strength as an artist and a lyricist. He's always been the strongest emcee out of the trio but he never had his chance to shine on his own accord.
In addition to the Carnage tape, he and Lil Yachty also confirmed to have a joint project on the way. Yachty and Takeoff contrast in styles so it'll be interesting to hear the outcome of that. We still don't have a release date on that yet either. With Culture II out right now, Quavo, Offset and Takeoff continue to prove to be some of the hottest artists in the game, both as a group and individually.
