“He’s been a brilliant example for millions of kids."

While they've faced off on opposing squads more times than we can count, it's really a no-brainer as to why two of the National Basketball League's fiercest competitors have found both friendship and reverence in each other. Lebron James has often been vocal about his appreciation for San Antonio Spurs' head coach Gregg Popovich, describing him as one of the greatest and now Pop recently had the chance to sing Bron's praises when he was asked about his opinion on the whole situation with Fox News host Laura Ingraham.

“It was an unbelievable show of arrogance for a talking head to try to tell someone else if they can speak, what they can speak about...it’s just ludicrous,” Popovich said in an interview ahead of the Spurs' face off against James' Cavaliers. “He’s been a brilliant example for millions of kids. Especially kids with lesser opportunities. They see in this guy someone who has consistently exhibited excellence in the workplace and gives them a voice.”

For those unfamiliar with the context, it was last week that Laura Ingraham addressed Lebron James and Kevin Durant on her show after the two athletes criticized Donald Trump (a common practice for them and other NBA players), telling them to "shut up and dribble."

Lebron would soon respond to Ingraham's comments during All-Star weekend saying that he would do no such thing. "Thank you, whatever her name is [...] I get to sit up here and talk about what's really important and how I can help change kids [...] We will definitely not shut up and dribble." James echoed his sentiments by taking to Twitter and declaring that he was "more than an athlete,"even lacing up a pair of kicks with the phrase on them during the All-Star game.
