Lil Wop has shared a new track called "Saint," produced by ChaseTheMoney. The song comes just after Wop released his Silent Hill EP, a collection of songs that continue his horror obsession. Like many of his songs, and those of his peers, "Saint" wraps up in under two minutes, but not before Wop makes a strong impression, his croaky delivery elongating syllables and slowing his verses to a crawl, making the 1-and-a-half-minute runtime perfect for his pace.
Wop seems to have a lot of freedom with his releases, regularly droppings SoundCloud loosies and worrying much less about putting out a proper debut. It's almost the 2018 equivalent to Gucci Mane's mixtape domination in the late 00s. Gucci changed the game with his then-unconventional release strategy, and it seems his protege is happy to do his part to keep a fluid evolution in how rap music is released.
