Russ gives his visual account of "The Flute."

The first single off Russ' upcoming project ZOO, "The Flute Song" is now an elaborate music video. The perennial underdog completes his "skyline view" with a flute-line of performers, rows upon rows of such. Scott Storch's flute-heavy production is on-the-nose to begin-with, then Russ completes the score by enlisting flutist "actors" to reenact the melody.

In all honesty, Russ is about a year late to the flute party, which saw artists like Kodak Black, 21 Savage and Future all score their biggest hits under the trance of a flute-driven spell, a phenomenon we willfully endured until the guitar recovered some ground. Russ' "The Flute Song" marks the 2nd ever collaboration between the two artists. Storch remains hopeful that the debate surrounding his disappearance and personal finances will come to a stop, the same way Russ has kept busy deflecting criticism that he is somehow ungrateful.

The video is directed by Edgar Esteves, whom he works with almost exclusively on all his video drops. Esteves also directed PnB Rock's "Trust Issues," which also features Russ in a revised version coming out a year after the original surfaced on World Star.
