Jordan Brand commemorates the 30th anniversary of the '88 Dunk Contest.

Earlier this month it was rumored that Jordan Brand would be releasing an alternate "White Cement" Air Jordan 3 with a clear outsole. Last night, the rumors were confirmed and the official images of the "Dunk Contest" Air Jordan 3 proved the sneakers are even better than we imagined.

The kicks are styled just like the beloved "White Cement" Air Jordan 3s that Michael Jordan wore in the iconic 1988 Slam Dunk Contest, but there's some added details that separate this pair.

For one, the icy blue outsole. Secondly, the number '147' is stamped behind the tongue, signifying Jordan's total points in the final round of the Dunk Contest. Lastly, and most importantly, the red paint stripe on the bottom of the left shoe which serves as a nod to the foul line dunk that Jordan pulled off in the '88 Dunk Contest. It's a marvelous detail and one of the best story-telling elements of any Air Jordan sneaker in recent memory.

The special edition Air Jordan 3 NRG "Dunk Contest," commemorating the 30th anniversary of MJ's dunk, is scheduled to release at select retailers on February 14th.

A list of stores that'll have the 3s in stock has not yet been announced but we'll keep you posted with any developments.
