Logic marks his inevitable return to the square circle, though he barely left at all, if only because he outgrew the weight differential of a mic and opted for the stainless steel of his private gym. His last single "One Day" featuring Ryan Tedder drove us wild with religious zealotry, but in sensing that he come off strong, Logic takes a far less comprehensive approach on "The Return."
Logic is reputed for densely packing his music with a comprehensive agenda. It's almost as if he has checklist of mandated provisions to get through, one after the other. On "The Return" produced by 6ix, Logic tries to cut through superficiality with a razor blade. Though he abandons his zealotry for the most part, Logic still nods his head in deference to the holy spirit. Eventually he will funnel much of his playbook into the novel he hopes to release by the end of 2018, god willing.
Quotable Lyrics:
And ain't no "S" on my chest but i'm still gunnin'
While half of these motherfuckers still runnin'
I've learned everything I've attained and steal from 'em
Like god damn, I'm the motherfuckin' man
Used to call you a hater, but you a motherfuckin' stan
Ain't nobody built himself a brand like me
I ain't signed a shoe deal 'cause I'm waitin' for Nike.
