Mindy Kaling is one funny lady and unfortunately, some of her jokes tend to make fun of herself, as we have seen in her series The Mindy Project. During a recent visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 38-year-old mother of one talks about her role in the upcoming Oceans 8 that features an all female-led cast.
Out of the numerous A-list ladies to take part in the film - Sarah Paulson, Cate Blanchett, Awkwafina, Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway - the one woman that Mindy is so stoked on knowing and working with is Rihanna.
"She was amazing and I'm so intimidated of her. Because I feel like movie stars are here and pop stars are here," she explained, using her hands. "They can do whatever they want and no one thinks it's crazy or weird."
She added: "So when I met Rihanna I was like, 'Hi Rihanna, it's great to meet you.' And like on the third day, I'd go up to Rihanna and be like, 'Hey Rihanna, it's Mindy Kaling,' and she's like, 'I know, we're in a movie together.'"
Mindy then texted her star-studded group chat, sending a selfie of her and Ellen. Everyone responds except Rihanna and Ellen jokes that maybe they aren't really friends. Watch below.
