Yung Lean has diversified his portfolio after enduring the most difficult stretch of his adult life. Out of personal depth arrives "Vampire Blues," the latest song uploaded to his Jonatan Leandoer channel, his balladic alter-ego. Leandoer may have a different set of standardswhich he can plug, but Lean isn't masking his identity, or hiding his penance at all.
"Vampire Blues" is the first work under this alias to surface since the moniker appeared on a couple of Dean Blunt EPs in 2017. Ever since, the Jonatan Leandoer YouTube channel has become an article of interest for his loyal fans, judging by how easy it is to monitor progress through subscription feeds.
The music video sees him filling out a makeshift lounge area made up of rubble as he contemplates his woes in the oral tradition of a "blues player." Aside from his Leandoer project, Lean is putting his creative energy towards a dance collaboration with a Swedish company called Cullbergbaletten. It appears we have now entered the experimental phase, of his yet experimental career.
Enjoy.
Quotable Lyrics:
Far too kind
Far too kind for me
I want to dance all the time
Dancing is the only thing
That makes me unwind
We don't sleep when it's dark outside
I'm a vampire in the night
Searching for blood
I run to the sky.
