Donald Glover as Willy Wonka is the change we needed.

Donald Glover has undoubtedly been one of the busiest people in show business over the past few years. He recently concluded the second season of his critically acclaimed television show, Atlanta and starred in the latest Star Wars film. In the midst of all of this, he's been working on new music which is rumored to be for his last album. Now that he's cleared his plate a little bit, it looks like he might be aiming for a new role as Willy Wonka in the upcoming reboot for Warner Brothers.

Donald Glover is among a few high profile actors are who are leading the Willy Wonka shortlist for WB's remake, according to Collider. Aside from Glover, Ryan Gosling and Ezra Miller also join the shortlist for the role. The reboot is coming from Harry Potter producer David Heyman and screenwriter Simon Rich. It's rumored that the reboot will take a look at Willy Wonka's origin story.

After wrapping up Solo and Atlanta, the only thing Glover has on his plate in terms of film is the Disney remake of The Lion King. Glover's reportedly been chasing the role of Willy Wonka for the remake.

Aside from his ventures in film and television, Donald Glover also landed his first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 with "This Is America." The song has since been certified platinum.
