Saweetie's been catching a whole lot of buzz over the past few months. The rapper caught everyone's attention with her single "Icy Girl" which was certified gold earlier this month. The song was featured on her debut EP, High Maintenance that dropped earlier this year. Now, she links up with London On Da Track for their new song "Up Now" featuring G-Eazy and Rich The Kid.
London On Da Track has teamed up with Saweetie for their new single, "Up Now" featuring Rich The Kid and G-Eazy. The track premiered earlier today on Zane Lowe's Beats1 show. London said he first heard of Saweetie through seeing her videos which led him to do more research about her. Her flow and overall charisma is what really made him want to work with her.
"Whatever me and Saweetie put out first I wanted to make sure it was epic," London said.
Saweetie explained that the song initially came around from her and London experimenting in the studio. Within the span of two days, London snagged verses from both Rich The Kid and G-Eazy to make it all come together.
"I wanted to ask somebody from her side of the town on it, which was G-Eazy. I wanted to ask somebody from my side of town which is Rich The Kid. So we had [a bit] of both worlds. Once I sent it to 'em, they hopped on it immediately.
Quotable Lyrics
No roof, ridin' 'round, I got two birds
Bitch, I'm way too geeked, more than two nerds
I need racks, I don't talk, do my plug walk
Fuck your bitch, kick her out, make that hoe walk
