Kim Kardashian was surprised when Kanye played her the song.

Much has been said about Kanye's newest album, Ye. The lyrics, the beats, and the features have all been analyzed to death over the few days the album has been released. However, one of the songs in particular, "Wouldn't Leave," was written specifically about a single person, Kim Kardashian, and she's finally revealed her thoughts on the lyrics of the song.

According to CNN, when Kim was on the red carpet of the CFDA Fashion Awards in Brooklyn yesterday, where she was to accept their first ever "Influencer Award," she told reporters that the contents of the song were surprising to even her.

"That was the one song that he didn't really play for me until the last minute," said Kim.

The song contains lyrics referencing Kanye's recent controversies, especially when he claimed that slavery was a choice on Twitter. When he went to defend his statements on TMZ, he was justifiably shot down in front of the entire world. In the song he raps that he would understand if Kim had left him at that very moment.

"My wife callin', screamin', say we 'bout to lose it all / Had to calm her down 'cause she couldn't breathe / Told her she could leave me now, but she wouldn't leave," he raps.

However, Kim stood by her husband, knowing that deep down his heart is in the right place.

"He might say things that might get misinterpreted and people don't see the context behind it, but I always know his heart," said Kim. "It meant a lot to me. We have different views sometimes, we have different things, but that's my husband, you know?"
