LeBron James is more than just an athlete. The King of basketball just completed arguably the biggest & best accomplishment of his career this week when he opened up a new elementary school in his hometown of Akron, Ohio for underprivileged kids. The opening of the I Promise school saw several of his fellow peers & celebrity friends praising the King for his work off the court, and rightfully so. Everyone from OBJ & Steph Curry to Nas & Diddy have paid LeBron their respects on social media for his efforts, and now Michelle & Barack Obama are joining in as well.
On Tuesday, Michelle decided to tweet out her appreciation & gratitude to LeBron for being such a positive role model. “@BarackObama and I are so proud of @KingJames and @IPROMISESchool. Kids in Akron and across the US are lucky to have you as a role model on and off the court. Keep using your platform for good and giving our kids a chance to shoot for the stars. 🌟🏀 #ReachHigher #BetterMakeRoom,” she said.
Shortly after the tweet was sent, King James obviously caught wind of it, and responded with his gratitude for the Obamas. “To you @MichelleObama & @BarackObama THANK YOU!!! 🙏🏾 @IPROMISESchool #IPROMISE,” he responded with.
