Cousin Stizz has closed off the week with a triumphant bow, delivering a pair of new bangers onto the masses. Devoutly championed by those loyal to his cause, Stizz has earned a spot as a favourite of the HNHH community, among other core bases. Perhaps such love has led to "Way Up," a reflection on success and self-worth not unlike Jay Rock's "Win," albeit far more entrenched in surrealism. The instrumental wanders through with a slight dissonance, keeping you on edge despite knowing the story ends on a happy note. At least, it does for Stizz' inner circle; haters may fare less fortunate.
Flow-wise, Stizz seems to let the confidence take over, foresaking technical fluidity for utter charisma. Sometimes, a man simply has to boast on em, and Stizz takes a page out of that playbook. "Shit like the mob," he raps, "since I was shoulder-sized always been suited to older ties." Clearly, Stizz has earned Made Man status, so you'd do best to respect him accordingly.
Quotable Lyrics
Stay up for days, and you get it,
You humble for it 'cause it's power you rumble for it
Worry 'bout me, need to count yours
My bank got blue streak, no Martin Lawrence
