Even in retirement, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant continues to rack up the awards. Last night, Kobe's animated short "Dear Basketball" won a Sports Emmy for Outstanding Post-Produced Graphic Design.
The future Hall of Famer was an executive producer of the short film and it features work from animator Glen Keane, who worked on Disney movies "The Little Mermaid" and "Beauty and the Beast," according to Bleacher Report.
The film, which chronicles Kobe's time in the sport from a child to NBA champion, is based off a poem of the same title that Bryant wrote for The Player's Tribune in 2015 before his final NBA season. Bryant beat out NBC’s Sunday Night Football, ESPN’s Monday Night Football and CBS’ Thursday Night Football for the award.
In addition to the Sports Emmy, Bryant also took home his first Oscar in March after "Dear Basketball" won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
