The TV juggernaut doesn't believe she is fit for such a position.

Oprah Winfrey's triumphant Golden Globes speech had gotten many excited at the prospect that the former talk show host is planning to announce her presidential candidacy for the upcoming election in 2020. However, in a new interview with InStyle magazine, Orpah has officially put those rumours to rest.

Winfrey reveals to the publication that "I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not. And so it’s not something that interests me. I don’t have the DNA for it." However, the A Wrinkle in Time star does think that the mock-ups for her potential mug and other campaign literature was "cute."

Winfrey knows that the people she surrounds herself with fully support her decision to not run for office in the coming election. Speaking about best friend Gayle King, she admits that "Gayle sends me these things, and then she'll go, 'I know, I know, I know! It wouldn't be good for you — it would be good for everyone else." She even details how she met with a business professional who reassured the icon that they would help in any way to materialize her bid for president.

This information comes shortly after NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist conducted a poll asking the American public whether they preferred Donald Trump or Oprah Winfrey to come out victorious in the next election. Unsurprisingly, Winfrey rose above Trump with a lead of 50%, while the current POTUS earned 39% of the votes cast.
