There are those of us who are old enough to have lived through it, and those who have heard about it only through hip-hop lore: the Soulja Boy dance.
A craze that swept the nation and then the world once upon a time (maybe not the proudest moment for millennials), the choreography to the rapper's hit song "Crank That" has gone down in infamy in the years since. However, for better or for worse, one rapper is trying to bring it back to the mainstream.
The above music video, which showcases the dance steps in great detail, was re-enacted by one Post Malone during a recent live show of his, much to the delight of the crowd who filled up the venue to hear the "rockstar" rapper perform. Twisting and shoulder-rolling his way through the old-school routine, shrieks of joy can be heard from the crowd upon the realization that yes, that did in fact just happen in real life. Check out some video footage from said concert moment below.
Despite the fact that he seems to be buying into the "overrated" narrative that surrounds his success, Post Malone is continuing to push forth into 2018 with a ton of momentum. His aforementioned single, which includes 21 Savage on the assist, was unmistakably one of the hottest rap tracks from 2017, launching both rappers to new heights commercially. Who knows what the future has in store for either of them in terms of any new studio projects, but one thing is for sure: Posty has the dance moves going as well.
