Russell Westbrook is must-watch TV, and on Friday night he proved his case why when he once again threw down one of the biggest dunks of the year. During the 3rd quarter of the Thunder x Bucks game, Westbrook embarrassed 7-foot center Thon Maker by throwing down an insane dunk on him in front of his home crowd.
On top of that, Westbrook got an And-1 with the call, completing what should be an easy SportCenter Top 10 play. Unfortunately though, Russ’ 40 points and 14 rebounds (1 assist shy of a triple double) wasn’t enough for the Oklahoma City Thunder to win as they lost on a Antetokoumpo dunk at the last second, not to forget a controversial out-of-bunds call as well. Giannis Antetokounmpo look to have stepped out of bounds on a last-second drive to the hoop to win the game. With only 1.3 seconds left, Thunder quickly in bounded the ball before refs could look at a replay, resulting in the end of the game.
However as mean as Russ’ dunk was, it should be noted that he happened to be on the receiving end of a pretty monstrous dunk by Bucks guard Malcolm Brogdon. With the tables reversed, Brogdon threw down a nice dunk in Russ’ face, and proceeded to taunt Russ by staring him down. This happened in the second quarter mind you, which would make sense why he made up for the embarrassment with his own insane dunk on Maker.
