The "rappers in studio" picture has become a staple in hip-hop news. Granted, in most instances the fans are left waiting months before the final product actually surfaces. Yet it's still good to know that the collaborative spirit is alive and well. Today, yet another combination of unlikely rappers has surfaced, as Tee Grizzley and Lil Pump collide for a session. From the sound of it, their partnership proved mutually beneficial; Tee Grizzley captioned the photo with extra sauce, writing "I should make them retire that studio after what we did to it."
It's unclear whether the song is meant to appear on Tee Grizzley's Activated (May 11th) or Lil Pump's Harvard Dropout (TBD). Perhaps it's destined to exist independent of a larger body of work. Either way, we should be gifted with the fruits of their labor in the near future. In all honesty, the blending of styles should prove interesting, as Tee Grizzley generally tends to deliver more emphasis on lyrics than Pump. Conversely, Pump's brand of abrasive, unapologetic energy may bring out an interesting side of Grizzley; however, the thought of Tee Grizzley shouting "Esketit" is enough to send shudders.
Either way, it should be an entertaining if straightforward banger. Still, Grizzley did seem particularly proud of their collaboration. The answer is forthcoming.
