Netflix's most popular series is without a doubt Stranger Things. The spooky, science fiction story of the Alien-like happenings that go down in a small Indiana town in 1983 has captivated the attention of many. In fact, when season two of the show dropped in October, the first episode pulled in 15.8 million U.S. viewers in the first 72 hours of it being live.
After many binged-watched its entirety, fans were left wondering when the third instalment would come around. The Duffer Brother's who created the show had a few comments to say about the third season, revealing that it couldn't pick up where season two left off because the actors are growing and maturing in real life.
Executive producer Shawn Levy comes at fans with even better news, telling Glamour magazine that if they "could make it [return] faster" they would. He further tells the publication that he and the brothers have all the details set but they don't' want to rush as they're "going to do it right."
Thanks to Shawn, we do know that the upcoming season will have eight or nine episodes. He add: "The number of episodes will be dictated by the amount of story that excites us. We now know what is going to happen in season three to every character."
As for Will, who was rightfully saved from the Upside Down in season two - but was then seen still dealing with issues from the cursed world - seaon three will apparently be going easy on him.
"We're going to give Will a break," Shawn says. "We’re not going to put Will through hell for a third season in a row. He’ll be dealing with stuff, but he won’t be at rock bottom the way we forced the amazing Noah Schnapp to play.”
