Mason Ramsey, the child who yodelled in a local Walmart to a small audience, has found a sizeable following online after the video of him performing began to spread on the Internet like wildfire. Now that the 11 year-old from Golconda, Illinois, has become an online sensation, and he will be reaping the benefits of his newfound fame by appearing at this weekend's Coachella festival in Indio, California.
Sources close to Ramsey reveal to TMZ that the youngster is set to take the stage with Whetan, an up-and-coming DJ who will be performing Friday afternoon. Whetan and the yodeller have an interesting history, as many confuse the musician for looking eerily similar to the viral phenomenon, which he acknowledged with a tweet that has gained similar traction online.
Post Malone has also expressed interest having Ramsey provide a guest appearance during his set, but may have to wait until the second weekend of the festival, as he is already booked to serenade the masses at the Grand Ole Opry that same day.
Ramsey's rendition of Hank Williams' "Lovesick Blues" has elevated the self-proclaimed "country boy" from a town of 700 to international attention thanks to the pervasive reach of social media.
