On their new song, "Real Rudebwoyy," Devontée and Kardinal Offishall have proclaimed themselves "the real mccoy." Over four and a half minutes, the two Torontonians try their best to back up this claim and, as far as the rapping goes, I'm convinced. Devontée sings a good hook, with some classic lines about him being the best and realer than the rest with much more creative rhyming and a big effortless voice.
The guest verse is a classic contribution from "Mr. Canadian," who gives Devontée some bonafide island flavour and the ability to claim the song title "Real Rudebwoy." The "BaKardi Slang" rapper also provides Toronto cred as the city's first big-time rapper (you definitely wouldn't hear drake saying "dunno" or, much less, "blem" if it weren't for Kardinal).
Before listening to the pair's new track, it's important to get some background on Devontée by watching his slick cameo in the Currys' "Chef Curry With The Pot" video.
