Snoop Dogg takes a step in a new direction.

Snoop Dogg is undeniably a legend in the game, and hip-hop's favorite uncle hasn't showed any signs of slowing down. In 2017, Snoop dropped off a few projects, including his fifteenth full length album Neva Left, as well as a politically charged EP called Make America Crip Again. Not only that, but back in May, Snoop revealed his plans to drop a gospel album, tentatively titled Snoop Dogg Presents the Bible of Love. At the time, Snoop spoke about the upcoming project, saying "“It’s always been on my heart. I just never got around to it because I always be doing gangsta business or doing this or doing that."

This wouldn't be the first time Snoop dabbled in different genres; in 2013, Dogg became Lion as he dropped the reggae infused Reincarnated, and in 2015 he tackled the funk on BUSH. Basically, Snoop has earned the right to do what he wants, when he wants, and you don't have to like it. Either way, it seems as if 2018 will finally bring about his transition to gospel, as Snoop has already taken some big steps in that direction. Snoop is officially set to appear at the upcoming Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, performing some music alongside Faith Evans and Tye Tribbett.

While it might be a little wild to picture Snoop Dogg sharing the stage with prominent gospel singers (including a forty-member choir), it's still nice to see him taking the transition seriously. Props to Snoop Dogg for continuing to break barriers, and I for one am curious to see what The Bible Of Love has in store for us.
